ALPA KOMO-AIYRYTAU

Long ago there lived giants Alpa (Alyp) of name. One of the giants set off for our land in search of his related people here. He had sought them for years when once he entered the skirts of Torso village. Now that he had covered a lot of ground he got tired and felt dull pain in his feet. For a short repose he seated himself on the ground pulling off his kynyiraks*. They were full of sand which caused the pain. Off shook the dust Alpamysha and off he went leaving behind him two mountain-like heaps of sand. They say this accounts for the appearance of the Alpa Komo Aiyrytau - the place where the villagers of Ithanbat, Torso, Akkuth and Yailau gathered in their summer camps "yailau". The two mounts are of the same height.
